Boys’ Tennis Serves Up a Successful Season
Varsity Boys’ Tennis Invigorated by Multiple Victories!

The Sunnyslope Varsity Boys’ Tennis team won a thrilling, 5-4 victory over Red Mountain on Wednesday night. The re-match was tied at 4-4 when Justin Stouffer and Riley Trostle won at #2 doubles to clinch the 1st-round playoff win. The team will now play Chaparral in the Quarterfinals on May 3rd at Chaparral High School at 3:00 p.m.

The team competed in the toughest section of the toughest division in the state this year. They ended the regular season with an 11-3 record (losing only to the 1st, 2nd and 4th ranked teams in the state) and emerged as the No.7 ranked team in all of Arizona! Impressively, freshman Zach Fernandez, the team’s No. 1 player, advances to the state singles quarter-finals this Friday. And ‘Slope is exceptionally proud of Coach Troy Linnartz, who earned the title of AIA Division 1 Coach of the Year for 2016. Congratulations coach and team, and good luck!
